He's not Romani

[edit]

Why is he listed as "Spanish Romani people", "People of Spanish-Romani descent" and "Romani sports people", when he's not Romani ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.66.54.144 (talk) 18:52, 22 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Romani

[edit]

Are there any Spanish language sources that state he is a Romani? Spiderone (talk) 17:13, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Here you can check he is not romani. The Sevilla FC official web comments about the wrong beliefs about romanian origin of Jesús:

From Sevillea FC's opening paragraph, I will translate what I can: "The time you live with Sevilla FC does not escape the international press and when living as Jesus Navas, neither. Being the star of a team where you beat the great Real Madrid in a match goes a long way. That being for serious newspaper like the New York Times, a country where football not exactly is king, has dedicated an article to Los Palacios, which we translated here for your consideration, into Castilian. It was published on Wednesday in Section Goba Soccer (international football). The funny thing is that there's an error, as the author of the article thinks that Navas is a gypsy, when time to explain el duende que tiene el fútbol del fenomenal extremo de Los Palacios (I dont know how to translate that, it's supposed to be his nickname), when the truth is that he is not. This is integral himself"--Anen87 (talk) 05:48, 14 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
For the curious, the untranslated part reads "the amazing skill of the winger from Los Palacios".--Menah the Great (talk) 11:32, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Here you can check he is not romani (...) about romanian origin of Jesús" You should be ashamed of yourself. ROMANIANS and "Romanis" are not the same thing, not even related. --79.115.178.34 (talk) 15:46, 9 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Photo

[edit]

Can we use a better photo of him in his Kit, maybe even wearing the captain's armband? This photo looks like it was pulled off of Facebook. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.38.115.174 (talk) 00:37, 5 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Transfer window

[edit]

There's clearly still a bit of a misunderstanding on this matter. The transfer window in England opens as soon as any individual club's playing season ends, as is permitted by FIFA rules. Please see the thread Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football/Archive 68#Transfers don't officially take place until July 1. That was posted last year, and some of the links may have died in the meantime, but the rules haven't changed, and Mr Navas is a Manchester City player as of now. When players move on a Bosman, they have to wait until their contract expires, which is normally 30 June, so they move on 1 July, but that isn't the case for a non-Bosman transfer. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 21:38, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
